CODE OFFICIALS LOOK FOR THE ICC-ES® PMG MARK TO APPROVE PLUMBING, MECHANICAL AND FUEL GAS PRODUCTS
Across the United States, code enforcement professionals rely on the ICC-ES® PMG Listing Program to determine if PMG products (plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas) comply with codes and standards. The ICC-ES® PMG Program also provides manufacturers with a fast, cost-effective means to prove that their products are code-compliant.

HELPING YOU APPROVE PRODUCTS WITH CONFIDENCE
The PMG Listing Program builds upon ICC-ES’ nearly eighty years of experience in evaluating a full range of building products for code compliance. ICC-ES® was established to help code officials by doing highly technical evaluations (evaluations for which a building department might not have the time or the staffing) and publishing the results for use by regulators. If a PMG product is listed with ICC-ES®, you know it has been through a rigorous evaluation process and has been shown to meet all applicable requirements.
The ICC-ES® PMG Listing Program:
- Employs a team of technical experts whose only job is to evaluate products
- Verifies that products comply with both codes and the applicable standards
- Requires that products be tested at accredited laboratories
- Requires factory inspections by accredited, third-party agencies
- Provides technical staff members who will, at no charge to code officials, answer questions and offer assistance

HOW DOES ICC-ES® DEVELOP ITS PMG LISTINGS?
Manufacturers submit an application and supporting documentation. ICC-ES® reviews the submittal to determine if a new listing criteria is needed, or if an existing listing criteria can be revised to allow for proper evaluation of the product. The applicant has testing done at an independent, accredited laboratory, and submits the test reports to ICC-ES® for evaluation. Once all necessary information has been submitted, and all questions and comments from the ICC-ES® staff have been satisfactorily resolved, the staff prepares a final listing. The listing is published and made available to code officials and the general public by posting on the ICC-ES® PMG web site. Manufacturers may also start using the ICC-ES PMG Listing Mark on their products. New listings are valid for one year from the date of issue, and may be renewed annually thereafter. An ongoing surveillance inspection program is required at facilities where the listed product is manufactured.

COMPLETE COVERAGE OF CODES AND STANDARDS
Most Listing programs verify only that products comply with standards. The ICC-ES® PMG Listing program, however, shows compliance not only with applicable standards, but also with such codes as the:
- International Plumbing Code®
- International Mechanical Code®
- International Fuel Gas Code®
- International Residential Code®
- Uniform Plumbing Code®
- Uniform Mechanical Code®
LOOK FOR THE MARK
Products listed with ICC-ES® will usually bear the ICC-ES® PMG mark.
In addition to looking for the ICC-ES® PMG mark on products, you
can look for the product listing certificates online in the
PMG Listing Directory. The listing certificates provide details such
as product identification information, installation instructions, and
conditions of the listing.
