ICC-ES Introduces PMG Listing Program

ICC Evaluation Service, Inc. (ICC-ES), the United States’ leader in evaluating building products for code compliance, introduces a new service for building safety officials: a plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas (PMG) listing program. Built on the same framework of integrity that helped ICC-ES become an industry-recognized expert in building products for 70 years, the PMG listing program evaluates product compliance with the International Codes and other model codes and standards.

“The ICC-ES PMG listing program assists building safety officials by helping them determine whether a product complies with applicable codes and standards,” said ICC-ES Director of Listing Programs Bernie Soesilo. “Code compliance is an added feature not normally offered in listing programs, and makes our program much more valuable due to the tremendous technical knowledge of the ICC-ES staff, Product Listing Committee, and ICC-ES’ focus on technical issues and code compliance.”

In addition to certifying PMG products as code compliant, the listing program includes ongoing inspections of manufacturers to ensure processes for ICC-ES PMG listed products remain consistent. The program operates under ISO/IEC Guide 65 entitled, “General Requirements for Bodies Operating Product Certification systems.”  For more information on the program, click here.

A nonprofit, public-benefit corporation, ICC-ES does technical evaluations of building products, components, methods and materials. ICC-ES evaluation reports and the new listing program for plumbing, mechanical and fuel gas products provide evidence that products and systems meet code requirements. ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council.

The International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention, develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states choose the International Codes, building safety codes developed by the International Code Council.
